 A Vortex is Coming!!!  The Ultimate in Stationary/Static Winches - and all electric!

This Vortex vx4 is our smallest Vortex model.  It is targeted to those that want the most portable winch around and is targeted to solo paragliding pilots.  Ideal to share ownership with a couple of your local paragliding pilots.

It would also be suitable for a hang gliding school wanting to do low-and-slow-only tows with a Condor or Alpha.  Or for towing any single-surface hang glider in moderate winds (15kph/10mph).  We did get 800fpm climbs on an Alpha in those conditions...you don't need any more power than that!

What IS included:

    • motor with powder-coated flanges and frame
    • appropriate motor controller in ABS controller box
    • custom analog handheld controller
    • 4' ladder fairlead with stainless eyelet

    • 2" hitch mount for your vehicle with drop-on bolt

What IS NOT included in the price listed here:

  • battery - you choose your desired capacity
  • shipping fees and shipping crate
  • drogue chute for line retrieval - we don't make our own yet.  We recommend buying a Parawinch WinchKite (they are expensive but totally worth the cost as it saves wear and tear on your towline, keeps the line and chute out of crops and increases your efficiency)

It is best to only have the amount of rope you use on your winch. Perpetually unused rope will just get continuously compacted under the rope in use.
